What is Food Hunt: Pixel Puzzle?
Food Hunt: Pixel Puzzle by Funfinity (published as EVERFUN on Google Play) puts a pixel-art snack on a wooden table and asks your ants to eat it. Under the picture sit five bays and a grid of coloured jars, each stamped with a number. Tap a jar in the front row and it hops into a bay; ants of that colour pour out of the hole, bite off exposed pixels of the same colour and carry them home. The number is how many pixels that jar wants, it drops by one per delivery, and at zero the jar leaves and the bay is empty again.
Reach is the whole puzzle. Ants only take pixels on the outside of what is left, so a jar for a colour that is still covered sits in its bay doing nothing, and five idle jars end the level. From the middle levels onwards the jar grid adds question-mark jars, numbered wooden planks that need a hammer jar to smash them, ice-wrapped jars, rope-tied pairs and padlocked jars that wait for a key jar. The routes on this site follow one clean run per level and name every jar in the order it was tapped.
How to get better at Food Hunt: Pixel Puzzle
These habits carry across every level. Open any walkthrough for board-specific moves.
- Look at the edge of the picture first: only colours touching the outside can be eaten right now.
- Compare the jar number with the pixels you can actually see of that colour. A 40 jar with six exposed pixels will stall in its bay until you uncover more.
- Never fill the fifth bay unless the jar going in will finish quickly. Five stalled jars is the only way to lose.
- Use the front row to open the rows behind it, but only when a bay will be free by the time the new jars arrive.
- Send a hammer jar as soon as its colour is exposed; the plank it breaks usually hides the colours your other jars are waiting for.
- Treat question-mark jars, ice and padlocks as things to reveal early, while you still have two empty bays to absorb whatever they turn out to be.
Frequently asked questions
-
How many Food Hunt: Pixel Puzzle levels does Level Sensei cover?
Level Sensei currently publishes 474 of 475 Food Hunt: Pixel Puzzle levels, each with a written route and a matching video.
-
Why does my jar sit in a bay with the number not moving?
None of its pixels are on the outside of the picture. Play a jar whose colour covers them, and the ants of the stalled jar will start eating as soon as the first pixel is exposed.
-
Do these walkthroughs use the boosters at the bottom of the screen?
No. Every route was completed in the recording without spending an extra-bay, hammer or ant-mascot booster. If a level ever needs one, the step says so.
-
Are these Food Hunt: Pixel Puzzle walkthroughs official?
No. Level Sensei is an independent fan resource and is not affiliated with Funfinity.
