How to beat Food Hunt: Pixel Puzzle Level 23 — full solution
- Tap the front Black 40, Red 50, and White 2 jars, followed by White 20 into the bays. Black ants begin eating the bottom legs and perimeter, while White ants clear the eye highlights and Red nibbles the exposed lower edge.
- Release the front Orange 20 and secondary Black 22 jars into the open bays. Black ants continue eroding the crab legs and bottom outline, which opens up direct access to the lower Red belly pixels.
- Deploy Orange 10, White 10, and Red 30 from the front row. Red and Orange ants rapidly strip the crab's lower torso and underbelly as the legs disappear completely, opening two bays for the next wave.
- Tap the Orange 40 and Red 50 jars into the free bays. The ants carve out the center of the crab's face and lower claw joints, leaving only the upper head and the two large purple claws.
- Send the Orange 32, Orange 21, and Red 30 jars into play. They dissolve the central head and face section, exposing the inner edges of the claw stems and reducing the picture to isolated claw clusters.
- Tap Black 10 and Black 15 to target the dark borders surrounding both claws. Stripping this Black outline is critical, as the purple claw pixels remain entirely untouchable until their borders vanish.
- With the claw outlines cleared, tap the Purple 55 jar alongside the remaining Red and White jars. Purple ants swarm the newly exposed claws, rapidly eating into both the left and right pincers.
- Tap the final Orange 15 and remaining low-count Red and White jars into the bays. The ants clean up the last few joint pixels and claw tips to finish the board.

Moves that cost you the level
- Tapping a Purple jar while the claws are still outlined in Black → Purple ants cannot reach enclosed pixels, permanently stalling the jar in a bay.
- Loading multiple Orange jars before the lower Black border is eaten → Orange pixels remain trapped behind the outline, jamming the bays.
Quick tips for Level 23
- Focus on Black jars early because Black outlines enclose almost every other color on this board.
- Keep at least one bay open when sending high-count jars so smaller utility jars can clear quickly without deadlock.
Board breakdown5 notes
- Layout
- A pixel crab sits in the center with purple claws on top, a red-orange body, and six black legs at the bottom. Five bays sit above a multi-row jar grid.
- Goal
- Clear all pixels of the crab by matching colored jars to exposed edges.
- Opening
- Tap the front Black and White jars to chew the bottom legs and exposed perimeter, creating space for Red and Orange.
- Trap
- Deploying the Purple 55 jar while the Black claw outline is intact stalls a bay for the entire mid-game.
- Mechanic
- Pixels can only be eaten from exposed outer edges; colors enclosed by Black outlines remain protected until the outline is broken.
Level 23 questions
-
Why won't ants eat the purple claws in Level 23?
The purple claws are fully enclosed by a Black pixel outline. You must deplete the outline with Black jars before Purple ants can target the claws.
