How to beat Food Hunt: Pixel Puzzle Level 278 — full solution

  1. Phase 1: Tap the Cyan 20 jar (row 1, column 1), the Orange 10 jar (row 1, column 2), the Blue 20 jar (row 1, column 3), and the White 14 jar (row 1, column 4) to fill four bays. Ants strip the outer edges of the macaron bun and top cream, freeing Cyan 20 and opening up the lower grid.
  2. Phase 2: Tap the Cyan 6 jar (row 2, column 3) into the emptied bay. As the initial White and Orange counts drop, tap the Dark Blue 13 jar and Blue 10 jar to strip the blueberries and upper frosting, cycling through the first wave of jar queues.
  3. Phase 3: Tap the Dark Grey 5 jar, Cyan 17 jar, and White 12 jar into available bays. Ants consume the dark berry outlines and inner white filling, creating clearance across both sides of the pastry.
  4. Phase 4: Deploy the White 3 jar, Cyan 6 jar, and Dark Grey jar. Ants finish off lingering border contours and cream highlights, bringing multiple bays close to emptying simultaneously.
  5. Phase 5: Tap the Green 4 jar (row 1, column 4) and Light Blue 11 jar to attack the garnish leaves and upper berry highlights. This exposes deeper interior segments without congesting the slots.
  6. Phase 6: Send in the Cyan 19 jar and Blue 27 jar to chew through the main body of the macaron shells. Ants take down large swaths of teal and azure pastry blocks.
  7. Phase 7: Tap the Orange 9 jar, Orange 3 jar, Cyan 17 jar, and Cyan 9 jar as slots become available. Ants strip the central cream layer accents and lower base shell.
  8. Phase 8: Release the Light Blue 12 jar and Cyan 1 jar to shave off remaining cyan layers, then deploy the Yellow 8 jar, Grey 9 jar, and Dark Grey 16 jar as the center pastry trims become fully accessible.
  9. Phase 9: Tap the Light Blue 15 jar, Dark Grey 10 jar, Dark Grey 2 jar, and Orange 9 jar to clear the remaining base crust and structural shading.
  10. Phase 10: Tap the final White 12 jar, Cyan 17 jar, Yellow 7 jar, and Blue 25 jar to eat the last pastry crumbs and finish the level.

Moves that cost you the level

  • Tapping the Yellow 10 jar early in the solve → Yellow pixels form inner macaron fillings and are completely blocked by Cyan and White, causing the Yellow jar to stall in a bay for most of the game.
  • Deploying large Dark Blue jars before stripping the Cyan crust → Dark Blue pixels sit inside the blueberry garnish and macaron center, leaving the jar stalled without targets.

Quick tips for Level 278

  • Prioritize Cyan and White jars at the start since the exterior shells and cream border form almost the entire exposed outer edge.
  • Keep at least one bay open when clearing decorative toppings so newly revealed leaf or berry colours do not cause a deadlock.
Board breakdown5 notes
Layout
The picture depicts a layered blueberry macaron with blueberries and mint leaves on top. Below the ant hole sit five bays and a 4x4 grid of jars.
Goal
Clear all pixel tiles from the macaron picture by feeding matching jars from the grid into the five available bays.
Opening
Start by tapping Cyan 20, Orange 10, Blue 20, and White 14 from the front row. Their colors are immediately exposed along the perimeter of the macaron.
Trap
The Yellow 10 and Yellow 25 jars sit near the front of the grid, but Yellow pixels are buried inside the filling; tapping them too early blocks a bay.
Mechanic
Standard colour matching with edge-eating ants. Jars feed forward row by row as front jars are deployed.

Level 278 questions

  • Which jar should I tap first on Level 278?

Tap the Cyan 20 jar in the top-left of the jar grid, as Cyan makes up the widest exposed portion of the macaron shell.
