How to beat Food Hunt: Pixel Puzzle Level 288 — full solution

  1. Tap Grey 10 (front row, left), Black 20 (front row, second from left), Beige 25 (front row, third from left), and Brown 20 (front row, right). These ants eat the initial exposed borders of the pug, the outer rim, and outline pixels.
  2. Send Purple 4, Pink 22, and Mystery 8 from the second row into available bays. As mystery jars reveal, tap Red jars that become exposed to begin stripping the pug's outer royal cape on both flanks.
  3. Tap Beige 35 from row 3, along with revealed Yellow and White jars uncovered in the grid. Ants clear the crown and outer chest fur, unblocking access to the lower body layers.
  4. Deploy remaining Red jars to eat away the heavy red folds of the royal robe. Ensure that matching White jars take off the ermine trim along the robe hem.
  5. Target the belly area where the wooden plank sits. Clear the adjacent Beige, Pink, and Red jars to steadily reduce the plank counter from 3 down toward zero.
  6. Tap Black jars and Dark Grey jars to clear the pug's facial outline, ears, and paw borders once the outer layers peel away, breaking the wooden plank down to 1.
  7. Break the final stage of the wooden plank by completing the surrounding Beige and Yellow blocks. Tap Yellow 8 and Beige 40 to strip the remaining belt and crown base.
  8. Finish by tapping the final Black, Beige, and White jars from the remaining stack to clear the pug's face, snout, and remaining crown pixels, completing the board.

Moves that cost you the level

  • Tapping inner body jars like Pink 22 or internal Yellow jars before stripping the red cape and black outline → their colours are completely buried under outer pixels, causing them to stall in bays and jam your queue.
  • Ignoring the wooden plank at the pug's belt → underlying belly pixels cannot be consumed until the plank counter reaches zero, blocking jar completion.

Quick tips for Level 288

  • Work from the outer cape inwards: Red, White, and Black outlines must clear before central Beige body pixels can be reached.
  • Avoid filling all 5 bays with identical or locked colours; keep at least one bay cycling rapidly to uncover mystery jars in the stack.
Board breakdown5 notes
Layout
A crowned pug wearing a red royal cape, sitting on a wooden plank marked with counter 3 over its belt area. Below the ant hole is a 5-bay rack, followed by a stacked jar grid containing visible and mystery jars.
Goal
Clear all pixels of the crowned king pug by depleting all jars in the stack and breaking the wooden plank.
Opening
Start by tapping Grey 10, Black 20, Beige 25, and Brown 20 from the front row. These target the fully exposed border and cape trim pixels safely.
Trap
Tapping high-count Beige or Pink jars too early locks bays because the pug's inner body and tongue are shielded by outer robe, crown, and outline pixels.
Mechanic
The wooden plank marked 3 covers the center belly pixels. It cracks and counts down as overlapping target sections are cleared, freeing the trapped pixels beneath.

Level 288 questions

  • How do I break the wooden plank in Level 288?

Clear the surrounding pixels around the pug's lower belly and belt. The plank counter drops from 3 to 0 as adjacent sections are cleared by matching jars.

  • Why are my Beige jars stalling early in Level 288?

Beige body pixels are shielded by the black outline and the red cape. Strip the cape and outlines first so the beige fur becomes exposed.
