How to beat Food Hunt: Pixel Puzzle Level 428 — full solution
- Tap the front-row Dark Grey 40, Red 24, Purple 41, and Dark Grey 40 jars in any order. Send the revealed Red 24 and newly exposed White and Brown jars to the bays. Ants strip the outer purple chest, brown torso edges, and the white outline of the central '2', leaving four bays occupied.
- Deploy Purple 20 and Orange 25 while White jars finish clearing from the bays. White and red ants finish eating the central '2' emblem while Purple and Brown ants continue eating the chest and flank. The first Hammer jar delivers a hit, reducing the plank count to 2.
- Send Orange 40, Red 10, and a Dark Grey Hammer jar to the bays as Purple jars clear. The white '2' disappears completely, revealing the monster's dark mouth and red nose. The Hammer jar strikes the plank again, dropping its counter to 1.
- Deploy Grey 41 and another Dark Grey Hammer jar into the bays as Brown 26 and Orange 7 clear. Ants strip the black mouth cavity and red face pixels, while Orange ants eat the exposed lower torso, leaving one bay open.
- Tap Brown 37, Hammer 37, White 8, and Dark Grey 45 to fill all five bays. Ants remove the teeth, inner mouth pixels, and jaw, putting maximum pressure on the bays while the final hammer charges up.
- Allow the Hammer jar to complete and smash the plank, exposing the hidden brown and purple flank underneath. Deploy Red 11 and Dark Grey jars to bays 3, 4, and 5 to eat the horn outlines and newly exposed flank.
- Send Brown 13, Brown 1, and Orange 20 to bays 1, 2, and 3, followed by Dark Grey jars into bays 4 and 5. Ants consume the forehead, the rest of the brown flank, and the horn borders.
- Deploy Brown 16, Orange 6, Dark Grey 8, and White 3 into the bays as earlier jars empty. Ants eat the remaining horn borders and the upper edges of the head, leaving only horn tips and forehead details.
- Send the remaining White, Orange, and Brown horn jars into the bays. Ants eat the white horn cores, beige horn tips, and orange crest, clearing the final pixels from the board to complete the level.

Moves that cost you the level
- Tapping Brown jars before the plank is broken → Brown pixels under the plank remain covered, stalling the Brown jar in a bay.
- Queuing multiple Hammer jars simultaneously → Hammer jars rely on Dark Grey outline pixels, which are scarce early on and will clog the bays.
Quick tips for Level 428
- Prioritize dismantling the central number '2' early, as it uncovers large swathes of interior colors and frees up White jars quickly.
- Keep at least one bay open when charging Hammer jars so you can cycle through colors that expose Dark Grey outlines.
Board breakdown5 notes
- Layout
- A wooden board displaying a horned minotaur monster with a large white-and-red '2' on its chest and a 3-hit plank over its right flank. Five bays sit above a grid of 12 visible jars arranged in three rows of four.
- Goal
- Clear all monster pixels from the board using ants dispatched by matching coloured jars and break the 3-hit plank with Hammer jars.
- Opening
- Tap front-row jars matching exposed outer pixels, specifically Dark Grey 40, Red 24, and Purple 41 to strip the monster's chest and the number '2' without stalling the bays.
- Trap
- Filling bays with Dark Grey Hammer jars before Black and Dark Grey outline pixels are exposed, or loading Brown jars while the right flank is still locked behind the Plank.
- Mechanic
- Planks protect underlying pixels until broken; Dark Grey Hammer jars collect black and dark grey pixels to deliver strikes against the plank.
Level 428 questions
-
How do I break the plank in Level 428?
Deploy Dark Grey Hammer jars. As ants eat exposed Black and Dark Grey pixels, the jar charges up and delivers a strike to the plank, breaking it after three hits.
-
Why are my Brown jars stalling?
A significant cluster of Brown pixels is trapped beneath the 3-hit plank on the right flank. Avoid sending Brown jars to the bays until the plank is destroyed.
