How to beat Food Hunt: Pixel Puzzle Level 289 — full solution

  1. Tap the Green 9 jar from row 2 on the left and the Light Green 8 jar from row 1 on the right. Ants immediately clear the leafy outer trim along the top edge of the taco.
  2. Send the Yellow 12 jar from row 2 on the right and the Light Green 12 jar uncovered behind it. These clear the exposed yellow crust borders and surrounding lettuce bits, opening up mystery jars underneath.
  3. Tap the Yellow 4 jar and Brown 11 jar from the active front rows to whittle down exposed taco shell underside and lower meat edges, freeing two bays as counts deplete.
  4. Tap the Green 11 jar, Light Green 9 jar, and Yellow 12 jar as revealed. These consume remaining lower shell sections and exposed greens, exposing the inner red tomato slices.
  5. Deploy the Red 10 jar and White 12 jar into the open bays. Ants consume the exposed tomato segments and white sour cream dollops on the filling layer.
  6. Tap the Dark Grey 18 jar, Yellow 17 jar, and Red 10 jar to feed ants into the darkened meat crevices, inner cheese shreds, and central tomato layers.
  7. Send the Green 14 jar, Dark Grey 30 jar, and Red 1 jar to chip away the remaining deep meat filling and surrounding salsa garnishes.
  8. Deploy the Green 25 jar, Red 11 jar, and Yellow 29 jar from the stack. The ants remove the remaining upper green leaf tips and inner taco shell corners.
  9. Tap the Orange 20 jar, Red 5 jar, Yellow 1 jar, and Cyan 7 jar to finish clearing the middle spiced filling layers and leftover shell details.
  10. Tap the remaining Red 6 jar, Red 1 jar, White 7 jar, and Dark Grey 27 jar to eat the final white toppings and dark meat pixels, clearing the board completely.

Moves that cost you the level

  • Tapping the Dark Grey 14 jar on row 1 too early → the dark meat pixels are entirely enclosed by lettuce and taco shell, leaving the jar stalled in a bay until outer layers are stripped.

Quick tips for Level 289

  • Prioritize Green, Light Green, and Yellow jars early since lettuce and shell form the taco exterior.
  • Keep at least one bay open when revealing Mystery jars so you can handle unexpected colours without overflowing.
Board breakdown5 notes
Layout
The picture depicts a taco filled with meat, tomatoes, cheese, and lettuce. The jar grid has four columns and four visible rows containing standard and mystery jars, feeding into five bays below an ant hole.
Goal
Clear all pixels of the taco image by matching jars to exposed pixel colours until the board is completely cleared.
Opening
Start by tapping the front Light Green and Green jars to clear the exposed lettuce leaves along the top.
Trap
The Dark Grey jars stall immediately if tapped early because the dark beef filling is buried beneath lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese.
Mechanic
Mystery jars marked with question marks only uncover their colour and number when jars directly blocking them are sent to the bays.

Level 289 questions

  • Why did my Dark Grey jar stop moving in Level 289?

Dark Grey represents meat filling buried inside the taco shell and lettuce. Clear the outer Green, Light Green, and Yellow pixels before calling Dark Grey jars.
