How to beat Food Hunt: Pixel Puzzle Level 172 — full solution

  1. Tap the Light Blue 40 (row 1, col 1), Green 30 (row 1, col 2), Purple 30 (row 1, col 3), and Light Blue 40 (row 1, col 4). The Light Blue ants peel the top ocean waves while Green and Purple start clearing the outer sea bottom corners.
  2. Tap the Green 20 (row 2, col 1) and Light Blue 35 (row 2, col 2). Light Blue chips further into the top ocean backdrop and Green consumes exposed border seaweed, keeping multiple bays cycling.
  3. Tap the Purple 35 (row 2, col 3) and Purple 20 (row 2, col 4). These purple jars strip the remaining coral formations on both lower corners to uncover the orange outer helmet rim.
  4. Tap the revealed Orange 12 and Orange 20 jars from the upper stack. Orange ants clear the top curved crest and decorative bolts on the helmet casing.
  5. Tap the Light Blue 40 and Cyan 34 jars. Cyan and Light Blue clear the upper sea layers and begin eroding the rim framing the central glass window.
  6. Tap the White jars (White 8 and White 15) alongside Yellow 30 and Light Green 15. The white reflection marks and yellow collar bands clear away, opening direct paths into the dark interior.
  7. Tap the Lilac 18 and Lilac 15 jars, followed by Dark Grey 20 and Black jars. Black ants remove the thick structural outlines around the diving helmet.
  8. Tap the remaining Cyan jars (Cyan 18, Cyan 22) to consume the inner porthole glass counter completely, followed by the final Orange 14, White 3, and Yellow 8 jars to finish the frame.

Moves that cost you the level

  • Tapping inner visor jars like Cyan 34 before the outer ocean and helmet frame are cleared → Cyan pixels are sealed inside the glass circle, causing the jar to stall indefinitely and jam a bay.
  • Calling Black and Dark Grey jars too early → Helmet outlines are buried beneath the outer shell and seaweed, locking bays without removing pixels.

Quick tips for Level 172

  • Always work from the outer background colours (Light Blue water, Purple corals) toward the center helmet.
  • The glass visor has a countdown counter indicating high pixel density; wait until the outer casing is peeled away before committing multiple cyan bays.
Board breakdown5 notes
Layout
A diving helmet submerged underwater with blue waves above, yellow seabed below, and purple and green seaweeds flanking the sides. Below the ant hole sits a 5-bay rack over a grid of colored jars.
Goal
Clear all pixels of the diving helmet scene by matching coloured jars to exposed pixels until the picture is completely eaten.
Opening
Start with the front row Light Blue 40, Green 30, Purple 30, and Light Blue 40 jars, as ocean and coral pixels surround the entire perimeter and are immediately exposed.
Trap
The central visor window holds over 60 Cyan pixels enclosed by the helmet rim; sending Cyan jars to bays before the rim is stripped causes them to stall.
Mechanic
Central visor pixels are enclosed by concentric rings of Orange, White, and Black, requiring strictly layered outer-to-inner clearing.

Level 172 questions

  • Why won't my Cyan jar drain on Level 172?

Cyan pixels form the inner porthole glass and are blocked by the helmet's outer rim. Clear the surrounding Orange, White, and Black outline pixels first.
