How to beat Food Hunt: Pixel Puzzle Level 279 — full solution

  1. Tap the Light Blue 30 jar (row 1, column 1), the Blue 30 jar (row 1, column 2), and the Light Green 30 jar (row 1, column 4). Light blue and blue ants strip the outer background pixels, freeing bays as the first batches complete.
  2. Tap the Cyan 35 jar (row 2, column 1) and Yellow 25 jar (row 2, column 2) to continue chewing through the external sky and wing accents, exposing the purple body below.
  3. Send in the Brown 42 jar (row 3, column 1), the Light Green 32 jar (row 3, column 2), and the Light Blue 38 jar (row 3, column 4). As the border key pins are collected, the central Padlock countdown drops.
  4. Tap the unlocked Yellow 3 jar in row 2, column 3 along with the Brown 28 jar (row 3, column 3) to break into the butterfly wings and collect the remaining keys.
  5. Deploy the newly revealed front jars: the Green 29 jar and Orange 32 jar. Ants dismantle the upper wing and clear the frog's upper back, preventing bays from clogging.
  6. Release the Lilac 12 jar and Lilac 11 jar to chew through the lower frog belly and back legs while the Green 5 jar finishes off the eye and spine outline.
  7. Send the Dark Blue 25 jar and Orange 32 jar to clear the remaining sky corners and wing markings, bringing down the outer rim entirely.
  8. Tap the Green 33 jar and Dark Grey 32 jar to strip the remaining body outline, eyes, and mouth contours.
  9. Deploy the Light Green 16 jar, Yellow 10 jar, and Orange 26 jar as inner wing tiles become exposed, emptying three bays sequentially.
  10. Finish by tapping the final Orange 26 jar, Orange 23 jar, and Orange 5 jar to consume the last pixels of the butterfly wing and complete the level.

Moves that cost you the level

  • Tapping the central Orange 32 jar before clearing outer Light Blue and Green pixels → Orange pixels on the inner butterfly wing remain covered, stalling the jar in a bay.
  • Ignoring the Padlock 3 jar in row 2, column 3 → Failing to collect the key pins early blocks access to lower-tier jars underneath.

Quick tips for Level 279

  • Clear the outer sky and border key pins first so the Padlock countdown reaches zero before you need the middle column.
  • Avoid loading multiple Orange and Brown jars early; their pixels are largely buried under the outer background and frog frame.
Board breakdown5 notes
Layout
The picture depicts a green and purple frog with an orange-and-brown butterfly wing on its back against a blue sky. Below the ant hole sits a grid of jars four columns wide and three visible rows deep, with a locked jar in the centre of row 2.
Goal
Clear all pixel tiles from the frog and butterfly board by dispatching ants using matching colour jars.
Opening
Begin with the front-row Light Blue 30, Blue 30, and Light Green 30 jars to strip the accessible sky and upper-left antenna pixels.
Trap
The Orange and Brown jars in the middle of the stack target the butterfly wing; tapping them before peeling off the surrounding shell stalls them indefinitely.
Mechanic
Padlock and Key: The jar in row 2, column 3 has a padlock requiring 3 keys, obtained by clearing specific pinned pixels on the board.

Level 279 questions

  • How do you open the locked jar in the middle row on Level 279?

Ants must eat the three pixels marked with key pins located on the edges of the frog and sky. Clear outer Light Blue and Purple sections to collect them.
