normal Live 11 colours / pieces Checked September 22, 2026

Level 257 features a pixel-art duck in a puddle framed by a dark border. Clear the outer border and duck body first with Dark Grey, Yellow, and Orange jars to expose the inner grass, red boot, and water. Avoid tapping Red or Light Green early to prevent stalled bays.

How to beat Food Hunt: Pixel Puzzle Level 257 — full solution

  1. Tap Blue 10 (front row, left), Blue 46 (front row, right), Brown 25, and Orange 6 to target exposed outer pixels along the picture boundary. Board state: five bays occupied with Brown 19, Orange 6, Yellow 28, Orange 32, and Cyan 9.
  2. Deploy Dark Grey 62 from the front row as Brown completes. Dark Grey ants begin stripping the dark border enclosing the picture while Cyan ants erode the puddle edges. Board state: bays hold Dark Grey 58, Orange 6, Yellow 28, Orange 32, and Cyan 9.
  3. Allow Cyan 9 and Orange 6 to drain, then send Yellow 41 and fresh Orange jars into the freed bays. Yellow and Orange ants peel away the duck's head and beak while Dark Grey continues along the perimeter. Board state: bays hold Dark Grey 44, Orange 1, Yellow 22, Orange 26, and Orange 3.
  4. As Orange and Yellow jars finish, tap Red 14 (front row, middle) along with incoming Yellow jars. Red ants eat the duck's boot while Yellow ants consume the body torso, fully revealing the grass below. Bays hold Dark Grey 20, Yellow 22, Red 14, Orange 7, and Yellow 15.
  5. Tap Light Green 22, Light Green 25, and Cyan 65 into the emptied bays. Green and cyan ants strip the grass patch and puddle surface around the duck's base. Bays hold Cyan 65, Light Green 18, Red 10, and Light Green 16 with one free bay.
  6. Deploy Yellow 26, Cyan 32, Red 5, Dark Grey 14, and Dark Grey 29 into available bays. These jars eat the remaining duck head contours, eye pixels, and the puddle baseline. Bays end holding Yellow 2, Dark Grey 14, Red 4, Dark Grey 29, and Cyan 29.
  7. Tap Cyan 23, Blue 26, Red 3, and Dark Grey 8 to strip the remaining water blocks and begin clearing the light blue sky. Board state: Dark Grey 8 finishes in the fifth bay while four bays remain open.
  8. Tap Dark Green 8, Cyan 3, Yellow 4, Green 27, Cyan 30, and Blue 39 from the grid into the bays. These jars consume the remaining duck bill tip, grass borders, and upper sky tiles to clear the entire picture.

Moves that cost you the level

  • Tapping Red 14 at the start → the duck's red boot is fully enclosed by yellow torso and blue puddle pixels, causing Red 14 to stall in a bay until the surrounding duck is removed.
  • Loading all bays with Yellow jars before uncovering the Dark Grey outline → the Dark Grey border covers large sections of the duck, leaving Yellow ants without exposed targets and clogging the bays.

Quick tips for Level 257

  • Prioritize Dark Grey outline jars early; removing the dark boundary exposes large fields of Yellow, Light Green, and Cyan beneath.
  • Keep at least one bay cycling rapidly rather than filling all five slots with high-count jars simultaneously.
Board breakdown5 notes
Layout
Five bays sit above a five-column jar grid with three rows visible at start. Above the ant hole is a pixel-art picture of a yellow duck standing in a blue puddle on green grass against a light blue sky with a dark grey frame.
Goal
Clear all pixels of the duck, puddle, grass, and sky by dispatching jars that match exposed edge colours.
Opening
Tap Blue 10, Blue 46, and Brown 25 from the front row to clear outer edge pixels and expose jars deeper in the grid.
Trap
Tapping Red 14 or Light Green jars before Dark Grey and Yellow strip the duck's outer perimeter will stall the bays because interior pixels are entirely covered.
Mechanic
Jars are arranged in vertical stacks per column; clearing a front jar uncovers the jar behind it, including hidden Mystery jars marked with a question mark.
