normal Live 8 colours / pieces Checked September 20, 2026

Level 511 features a crab wearing a cowboy hat framed by two swords on a cyan backdrop. Clear the outer Cyan background first to expose the crab's claws and hat brim. Avoid releasing Brown boxes early, as the central hat remains blocked until surrounding layers are cleared.

How to beat Colony Flow! Level 511 — full solution

  1. With Cyan 42, Light Blue 26, Cyan 44, and Cyan 45 already in the slots, tap Cyan 50 entering slot 5. Cyan ants dismantle the outer background blocks, exposing the claws and swords while all five slots are occupied.
  2. Tap Red 24, Red 25, and Coral 22 from the front row of the stack, followed by Pink 20. Red and pink ants strip the outer claws and sword borders as cyan boxes finish, freeing two slots.
  3. Tap Brown 39 into the open slot. Brown ants wait briefly until the hat brim edges become reachable, while red ants rapidly reduce the lower claw sections, keeping all five slots full.
  4. Tap White 35 from the front row of the stack. White ants strip the exposed sword blades and lower background accents, clearing space around the crab's body and hat while two slots free up.
  5. Tap Brown 35 and Black 10 into open slots. Brown ants strip the cowboy hat while black ants take the crab's eyes, exposing the inner face while three slots remain active.
  6. Tap Red 24 and Pink 20 from the front row as earlier boxes expire. Ants clear the crab's legs and face perimeter, opening up the central core with four slots in use.
  7. Tap Light Blue 26, Red 3, and Pink 20 into the available slots alongside Brown 1. The ants strip the sword edges and remaining claw joints, keeping all five slots occupied.
  8. Tap White 35, Brown 15, Light Blue 45, and Pink 20 from the stack in any order. Ants carry away the last blocks of the crab and swords, emptying all five slots and clearing the board.

Moves that cost you the level

  • Tapping Brown 39 or Brown 18 on the opening board → Brown blocks forming the cowboy hat are completely enclosed by the Cyan background and Red claws, leaving the box stuck in a slot.
  • Filling all five slots with Red boxes before clearing the White sword highlights → Red ants stall once outer claw edges are stripped, clogging slots until inner layers are revealed.

Quick tips for Level 511

  • Prioritize clearing the Cyan background boxes first to expose the full outer boundary of the crab and swords.
  • Alternate between Red and Pink boxes so claws and facial features are dismantled in parallel without filling all slots with one color.
Board breakdown5 notes
Layout
The picture shows a crab wearing a brown cowboy hat with two crossed swords behind it, surrounded by a solid cyan background. Below the picture sits a single nest hole, five slots, and a multi-row stack of boxes.
Goal
Clear all pixel blocks from the picture using ant boxes from the stack. There is no countdown timer on this level.
Opening
The opening uses four Cyan boxes and one Light Blue box to remove the vast outer background, uncovering the outer edges of the crab's claws and sword tips.
Trap
Brown boxes tapped too early stall immediately because the cowboy hat is completely surrounded by cyan sky and red claw segments.
Mechanic
Ants can only carry blocks that are exposed on the outer perimeter of the pixel art. Boxes count down to zero and exit their slots only as their matching blocks are removed.

Level 511 questions

  • What should I tap first on Level 511?

Focus on the Cyan boxes to eliminate the background surrounding the crab. Once the background is removed, the outer edges of the claws and swords become accessible for Red and White boxes.

  • Why are my Brown boxes stuck in the slots?

Brown blocks make up the central cowboy hat, which is entirely surrounded by cyan and red blocks. Do not tap Brown boxes until the hat's outer perimeter is exposed.
