How to beat Colony Flow! Level 508 — full solution

  1. Start with White 24, Brown 35, and Beige 25 already in the slots. Tap Pink 4 from the front row middle, then tap Cyan 25 from the front row right into the remaining two free slots to begin stripping the water rim and otter outline.
  2. Tap Black 30 from the stack once White 24 finishes and vacates a slot. This Black box clears the outer claws and ear borders, counting down quickly alongside the active Brown 35.
  3. As Brown 35 and Cyan 25 empty, tap White 25 and White 30 from the front row of the stack. Their ants target the foam ripples around the otter, gradually exposing more body tiles while Pink 4 finishes.
  4. Send Beige 30 and Cyan 30 into the newly cleared slots to peel off the water border on the left and the beige muzzle. Maintain at least one free slot to prevent a jam.
  5. Tap Cyan 25 and White 15 into open slots to clear the remaining light ripples and upper water background, which uncovers the interior body and paw blocks.
  6. Release the linked Brown 38 and Brown 36 boxes when two slots are simultaneously empty. Their ants strip the main pelt of the floating otter across the middle and lower body.
  7. Tap Black 31 and Black 19 to strip the nose, eyes, and belly shell details now fully exposed by the brown fur clearing.
  8. Tap the remaining Cyan 30, Cyan 28, Pink 22, and Pink 25 boxes in any order into the open slots to clear the last background water tiles and shell accents, completing the level.

Moves that cost you the level

  • Tapping Black 30 or Black 31 before the outer water and fur edges are cleared → black tiles are embedded inside the paws, ears, and face, leaving the black boxes stuck in slots.
  • Triggering the linked Brown 38 and Brown 36 pair when only one slot is open → requires two simultaneous free slots, leading to an immediate lock if bays are full.

Quick tips for Level 508

  • Prioritize Cyan and White boxes early, as water tiles form the entire perimeter of the image and must be cleared to reach inner layers.
  • Keep track of the linked boxes in the stack; plan ahead so two slots become free at the exact same moment.
Board breakdown5 notes
Layout
The picture shows a sea otter floating on its back surrounded by cyan water with white foam ripples. Below the image and ant nest are five slots, followed by a vertical stack of ant boxes arranged three wide.
Goal
Clear all pixel blocks making up the floating otter and water background by deploying matching ant boxes into the five available slots.
Opening
With White 24, Brown 35, and Beige 25 occupying the first three slots, tap Pink 4 and Cyan 25 to immediately begin stripping the exposed exterior boundary.
Trap
The Black boxes are dangerous early because facial features and paw claws are buried beneath Brown fur and Cyan water; deploying them too soon will stall slots.
Mechanic
Linked boxes joined by a connecting rod must be deployed together and require two vacant slots at the moment of tapping.

Level 508 questions

  • Why won't my Black ant box empty in Level 508?

Black blocks make up interior features like the otter's nose, eyes, and claws. You must clear the surrounding Brown fur and Cyan water before black blocks become exposed.

  • How do I handle the linked boxes in Level 508?

Wait until two slots are free simultaneously before tapping either of the linked boxes, otherwise they cannot deploy.
