Colony Flow! Level 496 Walkthrough

normal Live 7 colours / pieces Checked September 20, 2026

Level 496 features Pusheen sitting inside a sprinkle donut surrounded by a solid beige background. The key to winning is deploying Beige ant boxes immediately to peel away the perimeter so interior donut colours become accessible. Avoid loading all slots with inner colours before the outer beige border is breached.

How to beat Colony Flow! Level 496 — full solution

  1. With Light Blue 22 and Brown 22 already loaded in slots 1 and 2, tap Pink 30, Black 29, and Beige 33 in any order. This fills all five slots and sends Beige ants to begin carving away the bottom outer background.
  2. Let Beige 33 work through the bottom background edge until Pusheen's belly and the donut dough are uncovered. This is the critical chokepoint where Beige must open the perimeter before the other four boxes can make significant progress.
  3. As Light Blue 22 counts down toward 2 on Pusheen's body and Black 20 works on the lower outline, deploy Blue 16 into the slot freed by Beige 33 to dismantle the blue wand and sprinkles.
  4. Deploy Pink 30 and Hot Pink 26 as slot space opens, while Blue 11 continues clearing sprinkles. Light Blue finishes entirely and Pusheen's body vanishes from the center of the donut.
  5. Slide Pink 4, Hot Pink 2, Brown 11, and Blue 3 into active slots to clear away the pink frosting, remaining sprinkle pixels, and the brown donut crust.
  6. Deploy Beige 18 to strip the large expanse of beige background across the top and sides of the frame, exposing the remaining upper outlines.
  7. Deploy Black 25 followed by the final Beige boxes, concluding with Beige 1 to carry off the remaining background and outline pixels to complete the level.

Moves that cost you the level

  • Filling all five slots with Light Blue 22, Brown 22, Pink 30, and Black 29 without deploying Beige 33 → the beige background encloses the entire donut, leaving interior ants unable to reach their blocks and causing a total deadlock.

Quick tips for Level 496

  • Prioritize the background colour whenever an image is surrounded by a solid border; interior colours cannot pathfind to enclosed blocks.
  • Outline boxes like Black 29 take longer to clear because outline blocks are thin and scattered; keep at least one background or large fill box running alongside them.
Board breakdown5 notes
Layout
Five slots sit in a row above a three-column ant box stack. The pixel art above shows Pusheen inside a frosted donut with sprinkles on a solid beige canvas, with two ant nests in the divider.
Goal
Completely remove all blocks forming the cat, donut, sprinkles, and beige background by assigning ant boxes to the five slots.
Opening
With Light Blue 22 and Brown 22 already seated in slots 1 and 2, tap Beige 33 along with Black 29 and Pink 30 so the beige border is attacked right away.
Trap
Delaying the Beige ant boxes traps all other colours in the slots because the outer beige background completely shields the cat and donut.
Mechanic
Ants can only carry blocks that touch an exposed boundary of the drawing. Clearing outer layers progressively unlocks internal colours.

Level 496 questions

  • Why aren't my ants moving on Level 496?

The beige background surrounds the donut, so ants carrying interior colours like Pink or Light Blue cannot reach their blocks until Beige clears the outer edge.
