Colony Flow! Level 497 Walkthrough

hard Live 7 colours / pieces Checked September 20, 2026

Level 497 presents a butterfly mosaic enclosed by a thick yellow and orange background with linked boxes in the stack. Clear the outer border first to expose the cyan wings and inner body without clogging slots. Tapping inner wing colors prematurely fills the bays.

How to beat Colony Flow! Level 497 — full solution

  1. Tap Yellow 25, Orange 40, Orange 20, and Yellow 45 from the front row in any order. As row 2 unlocks, tap Yellow 35, Orange 20, Yellow 20, and Yellow 35. These clear the outer background border and expose the outer edges of the butterfly wings.
  2. Tap Cyan 35 from the front row, then release Light Blue 22, Cyan 35, and Black 30 as they reach the front. The ants peel away the outer wing layers and begin clearing the black wing outlines, leaving two slots free.
  3. Ensure at least two slots are empty, then tap the linked Black 46 and Hot Pink 30 pair, followed by Hot Pink 25 and Light Blue 22. These ants strip the black wing veins and inner pink wing patterns, rapidly bringing down the picture counters.
  4. Tap the exposed Orange 38, Yellow 15, Yellow 26, and Cyan 29 in any order to clean up remaining wing fragments and border patches. Follow with Hot Pink 50 to strip the inner wing patterns, leaving the butterfly core exposed.
  5. Tap the linked Hot Pink 50 and Yellow 50 pair, followed by Black 25, Black 20, and Yellow 33. Their ants clear the central butterfly body, inner wing cores, and antennae base, exposing the remaining antennae and head pixels.
  6. Tap Black 13, Hot Pink 1, Yellow 35, and the final Orange box. Their ants strip the remaining black antennae and yellow head pixels, clearing the entire board to complete the level.

Moves that cost you the level

  • Tapping Cyan 35 from the opening row → Cyan blocks are entirely buried inside the butterfly wings with no exposed edges, causing the box to stall and waste a slot.
  • Tapping the linked Black 46 and Hot Pink 30 pair with only one free slot → linked pairs require two slots simultaneously, causing the tap to fail or jamming remaining capacity.

Quick tips for Level 497

  • Always strip the outermost perimeter color completely before tapping boxes matching inner picture details.
  • Keep at least two slots open whenever a linked box pair reaches the front row of the stack.
Board breakdown5 notes
Layout
A large butterfly pixel image sits above five slots, framed by an outer yellow and orange background, with linked boxes and mystery boxes in the lower stack.
Goal
Clear all blocks from the butterfly mosaic by deploying ant boxes from the stack into the five slots.
Opening
Tap the Yellow and Orange boxes in the front row to clear the exposed outer background edges and reveal the wing outlines.
Trap
Tapping Cyan 35 from the front row at the very start stalls in a slot because cyan wing blocks are completely enclosed by yellow and orange.
Mechanic
Linked boxes joined by a bar deploy together into the slots in tandem, requiring two free slots to be available at the same time.
