How to beat Colony Flow! Level 491 — full solution
- Start with Cyan 18 and Red 44 already working from the slots. Tap the Black 25 box (row 1, second from left) and Cyan 25 box (row 1, far right) to strip the surrounding background and outline, leaving three slots occupied.
- Tap the Yellow 20 box (row 1, third from left) and Pink 4 box (row 1, far left). Their ants begin peeling the outer yellow fur and cheek edges as the original Cyan 18 box finishes and vacates its slot.
- Release the White 28 box and Pink 27 box from row 2 into the freed slots. The ants carry away the exposed white pompom and inner ear blocks, keeping slot rotation active.
- Tap the Yellow 22 box (row 2, far right) and Black 25 box (row 2, far left) into the open slots. This dismantles the remaining black perimeter along the cat's tail and lower base.
- Tap the Cyan 30 box and Cyan 26 box from row 3 as upper background blocks open up. These boxes finish off the top cyan sky corners, fully exposing the red Santa hat.
- Tap the Red 12 box, Yellow 8 box, and Black 4 box into the newly cleared slots. The ants strip the red scarf, the body fur, and the internal facial outlines.
- Send the Yellow 5 box, Red 8 box, Cyan 1 box, and Black 14 box into the slots in any order. They harvest the hat tip, scarf stripes, and final outline fragments.
- Tap the final White 25 box into the remaining open slot. The ants clear the last white muzzle and chest blocks to complete the level.

Moves that cost you the level
- Tapping the White 28 box while the cyan sky and black outline still cover the Santa hat trim → white blocks have no exposed edges, locking the slot until the perimeter is stripped.
- Filling all five slots with high-count yellow and red boxes early → ants cannot reach the interior fur and scarf until outer cyan blocks are cleared, causing an instant board stall.
Quick tips for Level 491
- Prioritize cyan boxes whenever the sky corners are visible to maximize exposed edges for interior colours.
- Keep at least one slot open or occupied by a low-count box to ensure room for newly unlocked colours.
Board breakdown5 notes
- Layout
- A pixel-art image of a cat wearing a red Santa hat and scarf sits on a cyan background above five collector slots and a four-column stack of ant boxes.
- Goal
- Clear all coloured blocks composing the holiday cat and its background using ant boxes from the stack.
- Opening
- Cyan 18 and Red 44 start already active in the slots; tap Black 25 and Cyan 25 from the front row to begin carving away the outer boundary.
- Trap
- The White 28 box in row 2 is tempting to tap early, but the white hat trim and muzzle are completely enclosed by black and yellow pixels.
- Mechanic
- Ants can only pick up exposed blocks bordering empty space, requiring a strict outside-in peeling strategy from cyan backdrop to interior details.
