How to beat Colony Flow! Level 490 — full solution

  1. Tap Beige 1 (row 1, column 4), Dark Green 16 (row 1, middle), Green 28 (row 1, right), and Orange 38 (row 2, column 4) in any order. The ants strip the exposed bottom feather tips, uncovering lower layers while leaving one slot open.
  2. Tap Blue 20 (row 1, column 4) and Green 34 as they become active. Ants carry away the remaining lower Green and Orange blocks, counting Orange down to 8 and Green down to 7 while clearing access to interior Pink and Yellow feathers.
  3. Tap Pink 4 (row 1, left), Pink 48 (row 1, middle), Yellow 22, and Light Blue 10 in any order. The ants strip the lower-right Pink wing and central Yellow feathers, exposing the Purple neck and Cyan accents.
  4. Tap Purple 29 and Light Blue 40 as the preceding boxes expire. The ants dismantle the bird's central body, neck curve, and inner details, reducing the image to the surrounding background and outer frame.
  5. Tap Blue 18 (row 1, left), Pink 5, and the revealed White and Light Green boxes in any order. Ants strip away the head, eye, and sky background blocks, leaving only the outer rectangular border.
  6. Tap White 5 and Light Green 1 to clear the remaining perimeter frame. The ants carry away the final border blocks to finish the level.

Moves that cost you the level

  • Tapping Pink 4 or Pink 48 on the opening board → Pink blocks are fully buried beneath the bottom feathers, leaving the box stuck in a slot indefinitely.
  • Filling all five slots with high-count boxes before clearing the bottom feather layer → running out of open slots when a newly exposed colour is required.

Quick tips for Level 490

  • Always work from the bottom tail feathers upwards to steadily expose the interior pink and yellow layers.
  • Keep at least one slot empty when uncovering mystery boxes in the stack so unexpected colours have room to land.
Board breakdown5 notes
Layout
The pixel picture depicts a colourful bird head framed by white and light green borders. Below the nest are five empty slots and a 5-column stack of ant boxes extending downward.
Goal
Clear every pixel block from the picture by deploying matching ant boxes from the stack into the five slots.
Opening
Start by tapping Beige 1, Dark Green 16, and Green 28, which directly target the exposed bottom feathers.
Trap
Pink 4 and Pink 48 sit in early stack rows, but all pink pixels are buried behind bottom green and orange blocks; tapping them early causes a slot deadlock.
Mechanic
Ants can only carry blocks that have at least one side exposed to the outer edge of the remaining drawing.

Level 490 questions

  • What do I tap first in Colony Flow! Level 490?

Tap Beige 1, Dark Green 16, and Green 28 from the front row. They clear the exposed bottom feather tips without stalling in the slots.

  • Why do my pink boxes get stuck on Level 490?

Pink pixels are shielded behind the outer orange and green feathers. Clear those lower layers first before sending pink boxes to the slots.
