How to beat Colony Flow! Level 289 — full solution
- Tap the Light Blue 18 box and Light Blue 10 box in the slots row to start clearing the exterior sky background. They strip blocks from the outer edge, leaving three slots open.
- Tap the Light Blue 20 box and White 18 box from the front row of the stack. Light blue continues removing background blocks, exposing the outer cape contours and white lining.
- Tap the Red 20 box from the front row and the Pink 20 box once revealed. Red begins collecting the pig's royal cape blocks from the bottom edges while pink chips away at outer ear outlines.
- Tap the Black 20 box and another Pink 20 box as they reach the front row. Black ants extract the lower border and outline pixels, exposing the yellow collar blocks beneath.
- Tap the Yellow 20 box and White 20 box once they become available in the front row. Yellow clears the collar and exposes interior red and purple robe layers.
- Tap the Red 20 box and Purple 20 box. Ants clear the purple belt and remaining red cloak sections, stripping access directly to the pig king's snout and crown.
- Tap the Yellow 20 box and Black 20 box from the front row. Yellow ants remove the crown blocks from the top while black ants clear the facial features and remaining outlines.
- Tap the remaining Pink 20 and Light Blue boxes to finish the pig's face, ears, and remaining background pixels until the entire picture is cleared.

Moves that cost you the level
- Tapping the Yellow 20 box or Purple 20 box on the opening board → yellow and purple pixels are buried inside the crown and robe, leaving those boxes stuck in slots until the outer layers clear.
- Filling all five slots before the Light Blue background is stripped → ants cannot access inner colours, causing an instant lockup.
Quick tips for Level 289
- Light blue forms the entire background perimeter, so always prioritise light blue boxes whenever they reach the front row.
- Keep at least one slot open at all times to avoid deadlocking when uncovering buried interior colours like yellow and purple.
Board breakdown5 notes
- Layout
- The picture is a crowned pig king wearing a royal robe against a light blue backdrop. Below are five empty slots and a multi-row stack of ant boxes arranged three across.
- Goal
- Completely remove all blocks from the pixel art using ants from the boxes in the stack before running out of free slots. There is no timer.
- Opening
- Start by activating the Light Blue 18 and Light Blue 10 boxes already above the stack to immediately dismantle the exterior sky border.
- Trap
- The Yellow 10 and Purple 20 boxes sit deep in the stack and correspond to interior crown and robe elements; opening them before their pixels are uncovered stalls the slots.
- Mechanic
- Ants can only carry exposed boundary blocks of their matching colour. Unexposed internal blocks cannot be removed until perimeter blocks are stripped away.
Level 289 questions
-
What should I tap first on Level 289?
Tap the Light Blue boxes at the top of the stack. They remove the blue sky framing the pig, exposing the cape and crown edges needed for later colours.
