Colony Flow! Level 283 Walkthrough

normal Live 8 colours / pieces Checked September 20, 2026

Level 283 features a lotus blossom pond blocked by two numerical barrier gates. Clear the outer water and foliage to deplete the 500-block brown barrier before tackling the central flower. Avoid tapping pink boxes early while the petals remain enclosed.

How to beat Colony Flow! Level 283 — full solution

  1. Tap the Light Blue 45 box (front row, column 2) and Light Green 45 box (front row, column 4). Their ants clear the exposed lower water blocks and the outer rim of the lily pad, leaving three slots free.
  2. Tap the Blue 25 box (front row, column 1) and Blue 50 box (front row, column 3). The blue ants carry away the perimeter water, steadily lowering the 500-block brown barrier counter down past 248.
  3. Tap the Blue 40 box and Light Green 20 box uncovered in the front row as slots open. These clear the perimeter foliage and water, completely exhausting the brown 500 barrier and exposing the central lotus flower.
  4. Tap the Purple 32 box and Pink 35 box into the available slots. The purple ants chip away at the right barrier while the pink ants begin stripping the lower petals of the lotus.
  5. Tap the White 31 box, Hot Pink 25 box, and Pink 40 box in any order. The ants dismantle the inner lotus blossom, causing the purple barrier counter on the right to drop down to 45.
  6. Tap the Blue 50 box and Pink 36 box as front slots clear. This finishes off the remaining central petals and reduces the right purple barrier counter down to 19.
  7. Tap the Light Blue 29 box, Green 36 box, and Green 35 box into empty slots. Their ants remove the upper-left green meadow and the background backdrop blocks behind the former lotus blossom.
  8. Tap the Green 19 box and Light Green 30 box from the final row of the stack. Their ants clear the final remaining green tiles along the top and bottom borders until the board is clear.

Moves that cost you the level

  • Tapping Pink 35 or Hot Pink 25 while the outer water and lily pad are still intact → the lotus flower petals are completely surrounded, leaving the pink ants stuck in slots with no exposed blocks to pick up.
  • Filling all five slots with high-count blue boxes before opening pathways to the inner picture → the slots jam and you run out of room for necessary green and pink clearers.

Quick tips for Level 283

  • Work from the outer ring inward: the blue water and light green lily pad must go first to expose the central pink petals.
  • Watch the numerical barrier counters (Brown 500 and Purple 75): they decrement as blocks are delivered to the nest and vanish once their quotas are met.
Board breakdown5 notes
Layout
A square pixel-art board displaying a pink lotus flower floating on blue water with a lily pad, flanked by a brown 500-block gate on the left and a purple 75-block gate on the right. Below the nest are five empty slots and a stack arranged four boxes wide.
Goal
Clear all coloured blocks from the board into the nest by matching ant boxes to exposed blocks until the picture is entirely removed.
Opening
Start by tapping the Light Blue 45 and Light Green 45 boxes in the front row. Both colours are immediately exposed along the bottom edges of the pond and lily pad.
Trap
The Pink and Hot Pink petal boxes in the middle stack rows cannot reach their targets until the surrounding water, foliage, and brown barrier are thoroughly cleared.
Mechanic
Numerical barrier gates (brown 500 and purple 75) block access to hidden blocks; their counters tick down as ants deliver blocks, dissolving the barrier when the counter reaches zero.

Level 283 questions

  • Why aren't my pink ants picking up any blocks in Level 283?

Pink blocks form the inner petals of the lotus flower. You must first clear the surrounding blue water and green leaves so the petals touch an outer exposed edge.
