Colony Flow! Level 98 Walkthrough

normal Live 6 colours / pieces Checked September 20, 2026

Level 98 presents a Japanese pagoda framed by mountains, foliage, and a broad light blue sky. Success relies on keeping a steady rotation of active exterior colors—clearing white borders, foliage, and red temple blocks—before dedicating the final phase entirely to light blue sky boxes. Avoid filling bays with sky boxes before the foreground is cleared.

How to beat Colony Flow! Level 98 — full solution

  1. Release Light Green 45 (front row, column 1), White 35 (front row, column 2), Blue 35 (front row, column 3), and Red 25 (front row, column 4). Four slots are now in use as ants strip the perimeter grass, white base, blue hill edges, and pagoda eaves.
  2. When White 35 empties, release White 30 (front row, column 2). As Light Green 45, Blue 35, and Red 25 finish, release Yellow 17 (front row, column 1), Blue 50 (front row, column 4), Red 20 (front row, column 2), and Red 23 (front row, column 3). All five slots are actively clearing.
  3. As White 30 and Yellow 17 finish, release White 30 (front row, column 1) and Light Green 30 (front row, column 4). When Red 20 finishes, release Light Blue 25 (front row, column 3). As Blue 50 and Red 23 finish, release White 30 (front row, column 1) and Red 38 (front row, column 2).
  4. As Light Blue 25 and Light Green 30 finish, release White 30 (front row, column 1) and White 30 (front row, column 4). As central slots free up, release Red 30 (front row, column 2) and Red 25 (front row, column 3). Let all active boxes empty completely; all five slots become free.
  5. Release Light Green 40 (front row, column 1), Blue 30 (front row, column 2), Light Blue 30 (front row, column 3), Light Green 42 (front row, column 4), and Blue 40 (front row, column 3). These strip the remaining perimeter foliage and lower mountain sections, keeping all five slots occupied.
  6. As Blue 30 and Light Green 40 finish, release Light Green 25 (front row, column 4). Allow all remaining green and blue boxes in the slots to run down to zero. All five slots are once again completely clear.
  7. Release Red 30 (front row, column 2), Red 34 (front row, column 3), and Red 30 (front row, column 4). As the first red boxes exhaust their numbers, release Red 34 (front row, column 2) and Red 34 (front row, column 3). The pagoda roof tiers and pillars are heavily dismantled.
  8. Release Light Blue 40 (front row, column 1) and Light Blue 34 (front row, column 4). As the red boxes clear, release White 32 (front row, column 2), White 20 (front row, column 3), White 40 (front row, column 4), and Light Blue 35 (front row, column 3). The inner walls and windows vanish.
  9. Wait for the white and light blue boxes to clear. Release Blue 34 (front row, column 1), Red 30 (front row, column 2), Yellow 30 (front row, column 3), and Light Blue 30 (front row, column 4). As slots open, release Blue 32 (front row, column 2). All detail accents and pagoda spires are eliminated.
  10. Release Light Blue 32 (front row, column 1), Light Blue 40 (front row, column 2), Light Blue 34 (front row, column 3), Light Blue 30 (front row, column 4), and Light Blue 35 (front row, column 2). All five slots fill with light blue ants, carrying away the remaining sky blocks to finish the level.

Moves that cost you the level

  • Tapping Light Blue boxes during the opening → the vast sky blocks are blocked by outer borders and foreground foliage, causing the box to freeze in a slot and choke your buffer.
  • Sending multiple Red boxes into slots before outer white and green blocks are cleared → the pagoda structure is shielded along its sides, slowing down block consumption and risking a slot jam.

Quick tips for Level 98

  • Prioritize exterior border colors like White and Light Green in the early game to carve wide pathways into the interior layers.
  • Wait for running boxes to fully empty your slots before deploying new colors to maintain maximum flexibility.
Board breakdown5 notes
Layout
The picture depicts a tiered red and yellow pagoda temple set against blue mountains, green trees, and an expansive light blue sky. Five slots sit in the center, above a multi-row stack of ant boxes arranged four across.
Goal
Clear all colored blocks from the picture using 45 ant boxes from the stack.
Opening
Tap Light Green 45, White 35, Blue 35, and Red 25 from the front row. These immediately start eating the exposed perimeter blocks without stalling.
Trap
Tapping Light Blue boxes early in the solve will clog the slots, as light blue sky blocks are largely surrounded and blocked by the white border, trees, and pagoda until mid-to-late game.
Mechanic
Ants only consume blocks of their color that are currently exposed on an outer edge; boxes whose target blocks are blocked remain stalled in their slots.

Level 98 questions

  • Why are my Light Blue boxes not counting down in Level 98?

Light blue blocks form the background sky, which is shielded by the perimeter white frame and the temple. Clear the outer edges first so the sky blocks become exposed.
