How to beat Colony Flow! Level 88 — full solution
- Release the Red 35 (front row, left), Red 35 (front row, middle-left), White 42 (row 2, left), Yellow 24 (front row, middle-right), and Black 30 (row 2, middle-left). Red ants begin peeling the outer background border, while White and Black expose initial contours; both early Red boxes deplete, leaving two slots free.
- Release the Red 35 (front row, left) and White 35 (front row, middle-left). White ants chew through the lower face and chin while Red continues shaving the outer edges. The initial Red 35 finishes, followed by White 42 and Black 30, leaving three slots free.
- Release the Red 30 (front row, middle-left) and White 35 (front row, right). White ants dismantle the main facial region while Red strips the lower perimeter blocks. The face clears down to the chest level, leaving two slots open.
- Release the Black 32 (front row, middle-left) and Red 35 (front row, middle-right). Black ants carve through the dark collar and hat brim while Red clears the bottom corners. Both boxes finish counting down, leaving four slots open with Yellow 24 still waiting.
- Release the White 32 (front row, middle). The surrounding pixels around the two 10-count chests finally clear, releasing the yellow pixels; Yellow 24 rapidly empties alongside White 32, leaving all five slots completely free.
- Release the Red 35 (front row, left), Black 35 (front row, middle-right), and Red 32 (front row, right). Black ants eat the upper hat brim and Red removes the upper background blocks. Two boxes clear, leaving three slots free.
- Release the Black 32 (front row, left) and Red 35 (front row, middle-right). Black ants consume the inner hat structure while Red removes the upper corners. The hat shrinks significantly, leaving three slots free.
- Release the Yellow 30 (front row, middle) and Red 35 (front row, right). Yellow ants target the exposed hat ornaments and forehead crest while Red clears the remaining top border. Yellow 30 depletes, leaving four slots free.
- Release the Black 21 (front row, left), the linked Red 34 + Red 34 pair (front row, middle), and Black 35 (front row, right). Black ants strip the remaining dark hat core while the linked Red ants chew the outer red halo; four slots remain occupied until the red border clears.
- Release the White 35 (front row, left), Red 35 (front row, middle), White 28 (row 2, middle), and Orange 14 (front row, right). Orange ants carry away the feet and cheek details while White and Red clear the final remnants of the character body; three slots empty.
- Release the Black 30 (front row, left), Yellow 34 (front row, middle-left), White 35 (row 2, left), Black 35 (front row, right), and Red 30 (front row, centre). The final ants clear the last remaining pixels of the hat crown and red border, completing the level.

Moves that cost you the level
- Tapping Yellow 24 without steadily cycling Red boxes → Yellow 24 remains stuck in a slot until the two 10-count chests are breached, leaving only four working slots for an extended period.
- Tapping the linked Red 34 + Red 34 pair when fewer than two slots are free → linked boxes require two adjacent free slots and will fail to deploy or cause an accidental buffer lock.
Quick tips for Level 88
- Prioritize Red boxes early to strip the massive perimeter, as inner character blocks cannot be targeted until the outer red border is removed.
- The two chests marked 10 require removing all bordering pixels before they open and release their yellow blocks.
- Ensure you have at least two empty slots before tapping the linked Red pair in the late game.
Board breakdown5 notes
- Layout
- A central pixel-art character framed by a solid Red border, flanked by two 10-count yellow chests, positioned above a 5-slot bay and a four-column box stack.
- Goal
- Clear all character and background pixels using 32 ant boxes across 5 colours (Red, White, Yellow, Black, Orange) with no move limit or timer.
- Opening
- Deploy the two front Red 35 boxes to immediately start carving into the thick outer perimeter, followed by White 42, Yellow 24, and Black 30.
- Trap
- Yellow 24 enters a slot early but remains dormant until the two 10-count chests are completely uncovered, permanently occupying one slot for the first half of the level.
- Mechanic
- Chests marked with numbers release trapped pixels once their surrounding blocks are cleared; linked boxes require two available slots to deploy simultaneously.
Level 88 questions
-
Why is the Yellow box not picking up blocks in Level 88?
Yellow blocks are trapped inside the two 10-count chests beside the face. Clear the surrounding red and white blocks first to open the chests.
-
How do I deploy the linked red boxes near the end?
Linked boxes enter the slots as a pair. Make sure at least two of your five slots are completely empty before tapping either box.
