normal Live 6 colours / pieces Checked September 20, 2026

Clear a red starfish surrounded by a light blue ocean background. Strip the outer light blue border first to uncover the starfish arms, then peel the inner red and dark details. Avoid opening deep red or black boxes before their layers are reached.

How to beat Colony Flow! Level 505 — full solution

  1. Deploy the Light Blue 28 box from the initial slot into the picture. Its ants strip the exposed light blue background along the bottom and outer perimeter, exposing the lower tips of the starfish arms.
  2. Tap the Beige 18 box (front row, right) and Black 25 box (front row, left) as needed, along with revealed Hot Pink and Red boxes from row 2. The ants clear the lower arms and dark accent dots of the starfish, while Light Blue 36 continues stripping the ocean border.
  3. Send in Red 32 and Hot Pink 30 as their layers clear to strip the core body of the starfish. Keep Beige and Black boxes active to take care of the facial features and dark spots as they become exposed.
  4. Tap the remaining Black and Beige boxes (including Black 12 and Beige 3) to clear out the inner eyes, mouth, and spot details, leaving only the upper arms and surrounding light blue ocean background.
  5. Release the Red boxes to remove the final red segments at the top of the starfish. Once the red blocks vanish, only the outer light blue background and blue ocean tiles remain across the picture.
  6. Tap the remaining Blue and Light Blue boxes (Blue 40, Light Blue 25, Blue 30, and the back-row Light Blue boxes) in any order into the open slots. Their ants clean up all outer ocean tiles to finish the level.

Moves that cost you the level

  • Tapping Red 32 from the front row too early → the starfish core is completely encased by the outer light blue background, causing the box to stall in a slot and block incoming moves.
  • Deploying Black 25 before any starfish dots are exposed → black spots are interior pixels that cannot be reached until the red arms are partially cleared.

Quick tips for Level 505

  • Always focus on light blue boxes first because the ocean background encloses the starfish on all four sides.
  • Reserve slots for the small accent colours like Beige and Black only when their specific spots become exposed on the starfish surface.
Board breakdown5 notes
Layout
A pixel-art image of a red starfish resting against a light blue ocean with white bubbles sits at the top, above a single nest and five slots.
Goal
Clear all coloured blocks composing the starfish and ocean background by deploying ant boxes from the stack.
Opening
Light Blue 28 is placed in the leftmost slot right away to eat into the outer border and expose the starfish.
Trap
Red and Hot Pink boxes sit right behind the front row; tapping them before outer border blocks are removed leaves them permanently stuck in slots.
Mechanic
Ants can only carry blocks touching an exposed outer edge of the remaining picture; interior pixels must wait until surrounding tiles are removed.

Level 505 questions

  • What should I tap first on Level 505?

Prioritize Light Blue boxes to clear the outer border around the starfish before tapping any red or black boxes.

  • Why are my red boxes stuck in the slots?

Red blocks form the interior starfish body; until the exterior light blue ocean blocks surrounding them are cleared, red ants have no valid targets.
