Colony Flow! Level 31 Walkthrough

normal Live 8 colours / pieces Checked September 20, 2026

Level 31 features a watermelon slice on a cone against a light blue sky, using eight colours and mystery boxes. The winning strategy is peeling away the sky and outer rind first to uncover the seeds and flesh before committing red and coral boxes to the slots. Avoid tapping red boxes early when their pixels are blocked.

How to beat Colony Flow! Level 31 — full solution

  1. Tap the Light Blue 20 box (front row, left), the Light Blue 18 box (front row, middle), and the revealed Mystery box (front row, middle) which reveals as Black 16. Ants clear the outer light blue sky and the exposed watermelon seeds. The Light Blue 20 box finishes and vacates its slot.
  2. Tap the Green 17 box (front row, right), the revealed Mystery box behind it which reveals as Beige 14, and the Red 17 box (front row, left). Green rind, beige cone borders, and the outer red outline begin peeling away as the Light Blue 18 box finishes.
  3. Tap the revealed Mystery box in the middle column which reveals as Grey 15, then the Light Green 7 box (front row, middle), followed by the Green 10 box (front row, right). Ants remove the green rind and start stripping the grey cone pattern as green and beige boxes clear.
  4. Tap the Grey 12 box (front row, middle), the Beige 5 box (front row, left), and the Green 3 box (front row, right). Cone waffle pixels and inner rind strips vanish, emptying the Green and Grey boxes from the slots.
  5. Tap the Red 16 box (front row, middle), the Coral 11 box (front row, middle), the Coral 14 box (front row, right), and the Light Blue 17 box (front row, right). Ants swarm the newly exposed coral flesh and finish off upper sky blocks.
  6. Tap the Black 8 box (front row, left), the Coral 14 box (front row, middle), and the Black 15 box (front row, left). Deep watermelon seeds and the central coral core are steadily carried into the nest.
  7. Tap the Light Blue 18 box (front row, middle), the Light Blue 16 box (front row, right), and the Light Green 7 box (front row, middle). Blue ants remove the remaining upper-left background while light green ants clear the corner rind.
  8. Tap the Red 13 box (front row, middle), the Coral 12 box (front row, middle), the Light Blue 20 box (front row, middle), and the Light Green 2 box (front row, right). The remaining watermelon flesh and inner seeds disappear, leaving only a few stray pixels.
  9. Tap the Black 2 box (front row, left), the Red 1 box (front row, middle), and the Light Blue 3 box (front row, right). The final seed, flesh pixel, and sky blocks are carried away, completing the picture.

Moves that cost you the level

  • Tapping the Red 17 box on turn one → red pixels are buried behind sky and rind, locking a slot until the outer border is peeled away.
  • Sending multiple Coral boxes into slots while seeds and rind still cover the core → coral ants have no exposed targets, filling the remaining slots and triggering a stalemate.

Quick tips for Level 31

  • Clear the outer Light Blue sky blocks first to expose both the green rind and the black seeds on the watermelon slice.
  • Monitor slot capacity closely when tapping Mystery boxes so an unexposed colour does not lock up a slot prematurely.
  • Work from outside inward: strip the background, then the rind and cone, and only then deploy red and coral ants for the flesh.
Board breakdown5 notes
Layout
A watermelon slice resting in a cone or wrapper against a light blue background. Five empty slots sit above a three-column stack of ant boxes, with two ant nests located just beneath the picture.
Goal
Strip all coloured pixels from the watermelon picture before the 6-minute timer runs out.
Opening
Start by tapping the Light Blue 20 and Light Blue 18 boxes in the front row to clear exposed sky, followed by the middle Mystery box to release black ants for the exposed seeds.
Trap
Tapping red or coral boxes in the first two moves stalls them in slots because all watermelon flesh is shielded behind the light blue background and outer rind.
Mechanic
Mystery boxes marked with question marks occupy rows in the stack and reveal their true colour and ant count only when tapped into a slot.

Level 31 questions

  • What should I tap first on Level 31?

Tap the Light Blue 20 and Light Blue 18 boxes in the front row. They clear the outer sky border, freeing up slots and exposing the watermelon rind and black seeds.

  • Why are my red and coral boxes stuck in their slots?

Red and coral ants only collect exposed flesh blocks. If the outer light blue background, green rind, and black seeds have not been removed yet, the flesh remains covered and the boxes cannot empty.
