Colony Flow! Level 249 Walkthrough

normal Live 8 colours / pieces Checked September 20, 2026

Level 249 features a pixel-art rainbow flanked by clouds and a heart against a yellow sky. The winning strategy is stripping the outer yellow background and white clouds first to reveal the rainbow bands from the outside inward. Avoid sending inner arch colours into slots prematurely.

How to beat Colony Flow! Level 249 — full solution

  1. With Yellow 20 already working in slot 1, tap White 15 (front row, left), Yellow 20 (front row, second), Green 15 (front row, third), and Yellow 20 (front row, right). The yellow ants clear the outer sky perimeter while white and green ants begin chipping the clouds and rainbow edges.
  2. Tap Pink 15 (front row, left) and Red 2 into the freed slots. The red and pink ants attack the exposed heart in the upper left and begin carving the outermost red arc of the rainbow.
  3. Deploy Pink 15 and Red 15 into open slots as earlier boxes expire. Red and pink ants strip the heart interior and the top red rainbow band, while White 15 continues wearing down the cloud perimeter.
  4. Send Cyan 3 into an available slot to collect the cyan shadow blocks along the cloud base. Tap Yellow 19 and Yellow 10 to clear the yellow sky backdrop directly above the rainbow arch.
  5. Tap Red 8, White 14, and Pink 14 in any order as slots open. These ants finish stripping the heart and dismantle the outer red and pink rainbow bands, uncovering the green band beneath.
  6. Send Green 15 and Blue 15 into empty slots. Green ants strip the middle arc while blue ants begin collecting exposed blue pixels directly underneath.
  7. Tap the linked Yellow and Cyan 1 pair into the two rightmost slots, followed by Blue 12 and Purple 15. Purple ants begin dismantling the lowermost, inner arc of the rainbow as the blue band clears.
  8. Deploy Pink 15 and White 20 into the remaining open slots. The ants carry away the final cloud puffs and pink pixel fragments until the entire picture is cleared.

Moves that cost you the level

  • Tapping Blue 12 or Purple 15 while the outer red and pink arches remain intact → inner rainbow pixels are completely blocked, trapping the box in a slot indefinitely.
  • Filling all five slots with White and Yellow boxes early → leaves no empty slot to deploy Red or Pink when the heart and rainbow edges first become exposed.

Quick tips for Level 249

  • Strip the background sky blocks thoroughly along the top edge to maximise the exposed perimeter of the rainbow.
  • Work through the rainbow layer by layer from the outside in: Red and Pink first, followed by Green, Blue, and finally Purple.
  • Always maintain at least two empty slots before tapping a linked box pair so both boxes can slide in together.
Board breakdown5 notes
Layout
A pixel canvas at the top depicts a rainbow, clouds, and a heart against a yellow sky. Below sits a single ant nest hole, five staging slots, and a four-column stack of ant boxes.
Goal
Clear every pixel block from the picture by tapping matching ant boxes from the stack into the five slots.
Opening
Yellow 20 starts in slot 1. Tap White 15 and Yellow 20 from the front row to strip outer sky pixels and cloud edges safely without clogging the slots.
Trap
Deploying Purple 15 early is fatal because the purple band forms the innermost rainbow arch and remains covered until all outer colours are removed.
Mechanic
Linked boxes must enter slots in tandem, requiring two simultaneously vacant slots to be tapped.

Level 249 questions

  • What should I clear first in Colony Flow! Level 249?

Clear the yellow sky and white cloud edges first. This reveals the outer red and pink arches of the rainbow and opens up targets for new boxes.

  • Why won't my Purple ant box collect any blocks?

Purple forms the innermost arc of the rainbow. It cannot collect blocks until the surrounding Red, Pink, Green, and Blue arches are completely dismantled.
