Colony Flow! Level 23 Walkthrough

normal Live 7 colours / pieces Checked September 20, 2026

Level 23 depicts a piece of nigiri sushi wrapped in a seaweed band. Clear the outer white background and black outline first to expose the rice, seaweed, and salmon layers beneath. Avoid loading topping colours too early while outer borders still seal them off.

How to beat Colony Flow! Level 23 — full solution

  1. Release the White 30 (front row, left), White 35 (front row, middle), White 30 (front row, right), and White 35 (front row, left). White ants strip the outer background around the sushi; one slot remains free.
  2. Release the White 30 (front row, middle), Black 30 (revealed, front row, right), White 35 (front row, right), Orange 20 (front row, left), and Beige 23 (front row, middle). White and Black ants peel the outer borders, exposing the rice base while Orange 20 waits.
  3. Release the Black 20 (front row, right), White 20 (revealed, front row, middle), and Beige 23 (front row, left). Black and White finish the lower borders while Beige ants clear the rice shadow; three slots free up.
  4. Release the Red 32 (front row, middle), White 35 (front row, right), and Yellow 29 (revealed, front row, right). White ants clear inner rice pixels while Red and Yellow ants attack newly exposed salmon topping.
  5. Release the Yellow 20 (revealed, front row, left), Red 10 (front row, middle), and Green 22 (front row, right). Green ants clear the top section of the nori seaweed band while Yellow and Red finish exposed topping segments.
  6. Release the Green 12 (revealed, front row, right), Orange 15 (front row, left), and White 34 (front row, right). Green ants chew through the seaweed belt, Orange peels salmon layers, and White clears remaining rice.
  7. Release the Orange 9 (revealed, front row, left), Black 32 (front row, middle), Black 22 (front row, middle), Yellow 29 (front row, left), and Green 24 (front row, right). Black ants remove inner outline pixels, allowing Green and Yellow to eat freely.
  8. Release the White 35 (front row, right), Orange 27 (front row, left), Beige 3 (front row, middle), Beige 3 (front row, right), and White 35 (front row, right). Beige completely finishes the rice shading and White clears bottom rice.
  9. Release the Yellow 26 (front row, left), Green 35 (front row, right), Orange 23 (front row, left), Red 2 (front row, middle), and Black 31 (front row, right). Removes the bulk of the nori seaweed and red garnish.
  10. Release the Yellow 25 (front row, left), Red 28 (front row, middle), Black 32 (front row, middle), and White 20 (front row, middle). Clears the upper topping highlight, final black boundary pixels, and interior rice.
  11. Release the Black 20 (front row, right), White 30 (front row, middle), Orange 34 (front row, middle), White 16 (front row, middle), and Green 25 (front row, right). Cleans up every remaining block on the board to complete the level.

Moves that cost you the level

  • Tapping the Orange 20 box in opening rows before black borders are gone → the orange topping is fully enclosed, causing Orange 20 to sit idle and block a slot.
  • Releasing the Green 22 box before outer white and yellow blocks clear the top of the nori band → green ants have no exposed blocks to carry and stall in the slot.

Quick tips for Level 23

  • Always exhaust the White background boxes first to maximize exposed surface area on the subject.
  • Keep at least one slot open when revealing mystery boxes so a locked-out colour does not cause an immediate game over.
Board breakdown5 notes
Layout
The picture is a sushi roll with white rice base, green seaweed band, and an orange/yellow/red fish topping, centered above two nests and five holding slots.
Goal
Carry away all coloured blocks forming the sushi image by matching ant box colours to exposed outer edges.
Opening
Send the first four White boxes into the slots. White is the only exposed colour initially, so clearing the border is completely safe.
Trap
The Orange 20 box appears early in the stack, but the salmon slice is surrounded by black outline blocks. Tapping it too soon stalls it in a slot.
Mechanic
Mystery boxes hide their colour until they reach the front row. Prepare a spare slot before uncovering them in case they reveal an unexposed colour.

Level 23 questions

  • What should I tap first on Level 23?

Tap all the front White boxes. The entire sushi illustration is surrounded by white background blocks, so only White ants can work at the beginning.

  • Why are my orange ants not moving?

Orange blocks form the interior fish topping. They cannot be gathered until the surrounding black outline and outer white rice blocks are fully stripped away.
