Colony Flow! Level 551 Walkthrough

hard Live 8 colours / pieces Checked September 20, 2026

Clear a detailed sea turtle mosaic bordered by coral reefs and open water. Keep the five slots flowing by clearing perimeter water and seaweed before unlocking the turtle shell. The primary trap is sending orange and yellow shell boxes into slots while the shell core remains buried.

How to beat Colony Flow! Level 551 — full solution

  1. Start with Light Blue 30 and Dark Green 20 already working in the slots. Tap Cyan 45 (front row, left), Cyan 45 (front row, middle), and Light Blue 40 (front row, right) in any order to strip the outer ocean blocks and expose the coral reef.
  2. Tap Light Blue 33 (front row, left) as earlier blue boxes deplete, then send in Yellow 50 and Yellow 48 from the middle stack to strip the yellow tropical fish in the upper-right corner. Light Blue ants continue clearing the upper background.
  3. Deploy the linked Orange and Purple pair into the two open slots on the right, followed by Cyan 11 and Light Blue 33. Their ants remove the purple border stones and begin opening the edges of the central turtle.
  4. Tap Light Green 25 (front row, middle) and Orange 32 (front row, right), then release Green 47 and Pink 20 to strip the lower coral branches and turtle flippers while Yellow 25 works on the exposed shell edge.
  5. Retrieve the exposed Light Blue key to open the locked box in the stack. Send the unlocked Cyan 40 and Light Blue 40 boxes into free slots to clear the remaining water surrounding the turtle head and top flipper.
  6. Tap the Yellow key to unlock Dark Purple 26, then send Dark Purple 26 and Light Blue 33 from the stack. They remove the dark outlines framing the turtle shell and flippers.
  7. Send the remaining Green 7, Orange 5, Yellow 19, and Cyan 16 boxes into the slots. They clear the inner turtle shell pattern and the remaining seaweed stalks.
  8. Finish by tapping the final Purple and Light Blue boxes to collect the last border blocks in the top-right corner, clearing the entire board.

Moves that cost you the level

  • Tapping Yellow 50 and Yellow 48 while the upper-right fish is still blocked by blue water blocks → the yellow ants have no reachable blocks, clogging two slots.
  • Deploying the linked Orange and Purple pair before the outer edges are stripped → linked boxes consume two slots simultaneously and stall if their edge blocks are unreachable.

Quick tips for Level 551

  • Prioritize perimeter water boxes first; peeling away the background is necessary to expose internal reef features and key pickups.
  • Make sure you have at least two empty slots before tapping any linked pair so you do not accidentally fill the board.
Board breakdown5 notes
Layout
A pixel mosaic of a swimming sea turtle surrounded by pink coral, green seaweed, and a yellow fish. Below the picture are five open slots and a deep stack containing locked boxes and a linked pair.
Goal
Strip all pixel blocks from the picture by deploying matching ant boxes from the stack into the five slots.
Opening
Light Blue 30 and Dark Green 20 are active in the slots. Clear the front Cyan and Light Blue boxes to peel away the outer sea borders.
Trap
The orange and yellow turtle shell boxes sit high in the stack, but the shell is completely encapsulated by green flippers and blue water. Tapping them too early jams the slots.
Mechanic
Coloured padlocks on stack boxes require freeing the matching key from inside the picture before the box can be tapped.

Level 551 questions

  • How do I unlock the locked boxes in the stack on Level 551?

Clear the surrounding blocks in the picture until the floating key icon is exposed. Ants carry the key away, which opens the matching padlock in your stack.
