normal Live 8 colours / pieces Checked September 20, 2026

Clear a 500-block pixel mosaic depicting a round bomb with a fuse, spark, and green border. Work from the outside border inwards to expose the inner red cap and purple core. Avoid tapping the central purple and blue boxes before their surrounding layers are stripped.

How to beat Colony Flow! Level 296 — full solution

  1. Begin with Green 35 and Red 50 already active in the slots. Tap the Green 25 box and the Black 40 box from the front row of the stack in any order to start stripping the exposed outer green border and black outlines.
  2. Tap the Yellow 45 box uncovered in the stack to tackle the right spark shape. Let the Green and Black boxes count down in their slots while yellow ants strip the exposed exterior points of the star.
  3. Tap the Pink 31 box from the front left and the linked pair consisting of Blue 25 and Pink 48 as slots empty. Pink ants target the top highlights of the bomb cap, while the blue ants begin picking off outer perimeter pixels.
  4. Tap the newly freed Green 35 box and Red 20 box to clear remaining edge sections of the outer frame, exposing the deeper red cap and white highlight sections beneath.
  5. Send in White 13 and Black 26 to clear the white shine along the bomb body and fuse highlights, followed by Pink 24 and Green 28 to fully open the central dark mass.
  6. Tap the Blue 45 box and the linked Pink 13 plus Pink 45 pair to clear the exposed core regions of the bomb body. Follow up with Blue 35 on the right once its slot becomes available.
  7. Release Yellow 10, Red 6, and White 5 into the freed slots in any order. The ants collect the remaining spark blocks, fuse spark embers, and white body highlights.
  8. Tap the Black 30 and Blue 20 boxes at the base of the stack, followed by Green 29. The remaining ants clear the final black outlines and blue core fragments to win the level.

Moves that cost you the level

  • Tapping Blue 30 or Purple 40 on the opening board → both colours sit deep inside the bomb core and have no exposed blocks initially, leaving their boxes stuck in slots and blocking incoming pieces.
  • Tapping linked pairs like Blue 25 and Pink 48 with only one free slot available → linked pairs require two open bays simultaneously to deploy.

Quick tips for Level 296

  • Focus entirely on exterior Green and Black blocks first; clearing the outer frame exposes the nested inner colors.
  • Watch the link lines connecting boxes in the stack; plan ahead to have two free slots whenever deploying a linked pair.
Board breakdown5 notes
Layout
A 500-block square pixel-art board showing a round purple and blue bomb with a brown fuse, red-pink cap, and yellow spark, enclosed by a green border. Five ant slots sit below the board above a tiered stack of boxes.
Goal
Clear all 500 blocks from the mosaic across eight colors by tapping ant boxes in the correct exterior-to-interior sequence.
Opening
Green 35 and Red 50 start in the slots; tap the front-row Green 25 and Black 40 boxes to safely clear the outermost exposed edges without jamming bays.
Trap
The central Purple 40 and Blue 30 boxes in the upper stack rows cannot reach any blocks early on because the entire bomb core is shielded by red, yellow, and green layers.
Mechanic
Diagonally and vertically linked boxes share a connecting bar and must be deployed into two free slots at the same time.

Level 296 questions

  • What should I tap first on Level 296?

Tap Green 25 and Black 40 from the front row. They work alongside the pre-placed Green and Red boxes to strip the outer perimeter.

  • Why do my blue and purple boxes get stuck?

The blue and purple mosaic blocks form the center of the bomb and are completely surrounded by green, yellow, and red. Clear the exterior layers before releasing core colors.
