normal Live 9 colours / pieces Checked September 20, 2026

How to beat Colony Flow! Level 224 — full solution

  1. Tap the Red 22 box (front row, left), the linked Red 20 + Red 15 pair (middle column), the Red 15 box (front row, right), and the Red 20 box (row 2, left). Red ants chew away the outermost red border and background, exposing the dark purple baseline and frog outlines.
  2. Tap the Red 20 box (row 2, right), the uncovered Dark Purple box, the White 20 box, and the first Green 20 box in any order. Ants strip the dark purple stripes and begin carving the lower frog's cigarette, smoke cloud, and chin, exposing light blue pixels.
  3. Tap the Light Blue box, the Dark Purple 20 box, and the next Green 20 box from the front row as slots free up. The ants clear the cigarette smoke and lower frog head, exposing the yellow eyes, orange accents, and black outlines.
  4. Tap the Orange 18 box, the Yellow box, and the linked Red 20 pair in any order. Ants carry off the eye highlights and strip the dense central red field, separating the lower frog from the upper frog.
  5. Tap the Black 20 box, Blue 15 box, and Green 20 box from the front row. Ants remove the black pupils, borders, and blue shirt/glasses, uncovering the remaining green pixels and upper red background.
  6. Tap the final Red 16, Green 20, and Red 16 boxes in any order. The ants collect the remaining green head pixels and corner red background tiles until the entire canvas is cleared.

Moves that cost you the level

  • Tapping the Green 20 or White 20 box during the opening → green and white blocks are completely buried inside the red border, leaving the box stalled in a slot until red clears.
  • Sending the linked Red 20 + Red 15 pair when only one slot is open → linked pairs require two free slots simultaneously, so tapping one with four slots full wastes an action.

Quick tips for Level 224

  • Focus on clearing the red border evenly to expose multiple inner colours before pulling diverse boxes into the slots.
  • Keep at least two slots open whenever working near linked pairs in the stack.
Board breakdown5 notes
Layout
A rectangular pixel picture featuring three Pepe the Frog characters against a solid red background. Underneath sits a single nest hole, five holding slots, and a tiered stack of boxes three columns wide.
Goal
Clear all coloured pixels from the canvas by deploying matching ant boxes. There is no countdown timer on this board.
Opening
Start by tapping Red 22 and the linked Red 20 + Red 15 middle column. Red blocks dominate the exterior perimeter, ensuring all initial red ants immediately find valid targets.
Trap
Green and White boxes appear near the top of the stack after clearing initial reds, but their pixels are buried deep behind the red background; tapping them before opening the interior stalls the slots.
Mechanic
Linked boxes share a connecting bar across rows; tapping either box pulls both into the slots at once, requiring two open slots.

Level 224 questions

  • What should I tap first on Level 224?

Tap the front red boxes, including the linked Red 20 + Red 15 pair in the centre, to clear the outer border.

  • Why did my Green box stop working on Level 224?

The green frog faces are completely encased in red pixels; clear the red borders first to expose green edges for the ants.
