How to beat Colony Flow! Level 17 — full solution

  1. Release the Light Blue 35 and Black 35 boxes from the front row, followed by the Black 26, Light Blue 20, and Black 21 boxes. Ants begin stripping the bottom glass stem and dish outline simultaneously, filling all five slots with active workers.
  2. Release the Light Blue 9 box into the first cleared slot, then the Light Blue 2 box into the third slot. The ants remove all remaining cyan dish pixels, completely dismantling the glass cup and freeing all five slots.
  3. Release the Yellow 1 box, White 38 box, White 27 box, and Brown 5 box. The Yellow ants take the wafer tip while White ants strip the base highlights and lower cream layer, leaving four slots in use.
  4. Release the Hot Pink 26 box, Hot Pink 20 box, Hot Pink 16 box, and White 17 box into the open slots. The swarm devours the bottom ice cream scoop from the sides inward, exposing the middle scoop.
  5. Release the Black 27 box and Black 20 box from the front row. Their ants tear away the dark outer outline surrounding the middle scoop and wafer stick, leaving two slots occupied.
  6. Release the Brown 20 box, Hot Pink 15 box, White 15 box, and White 10 box into the open slots. The ants carry away the brown wafer stick body and the middle scoop cream, exposing the upper swirl.
  7. Release the Yellow 8 box, Hot Pink 7 box, Black 36 box, and Black 23 box. These break through the cherry outline and the framing around the top swirl, leaving three slots active.
  8. Release the Light Blue 34 box, Black 17 box, Hot Pink 5 box, and Yellow 4 box. The ants dismantle the remaining dish accents and top swirl layers, leaving two slots free.
  9. Release the White 24 box, White 12 box, Hot Pink 1 box, and Black 1 box into the remaining slots. The ants carry away the cherry, stem, and final syrup pixels to clear the board.

Moves that cost you the level

  • Tapping White 38 or Hot Pink 26 on the opening move → their blocks are enclosed inside the Black outline and Light Blue glass, leaving both boxes stuck and reducing your working buffer to three slots.
  • Releasing Brown 20 before the Black wafer outline is cleared → Brown ants cannot reach the wafer stick, freezing the slot until another Black box opens the boundary.

Quick tips for Level 17

  • Strip the dark outer silhouette before attempting to collect the inner ice cream scoops.
  • Match box numbers to the approximate size of the visible color patches to avoid leaving near-empty boxes idling in slots.
  • Keep at least two slots open during transitions between layers so newly exposed mystery boxes can be deployed immediately.
Board breakdown5 notes
Layout
A pixel sundae with a cherry on top sits in a stemmed glass dish above two ant nests. Five empty slots wait above a 4-column stack of ant boxes.
Goal
Clear all coloured blocks forming the sundae picture within the 9m:47s countdown timer.
Opening
Tap the front Black and Light Blue boxes to strip the exterior outline and bowl of the sundae dish, ensuring ants have accessible blocks immediately.
Trap
Tapping Hot Pink 26 or White 38 early stalls both boxes in slots because their pixels are buried behind the Black border and Light Blue glass.
Mechanic
Exposed edge rule: ants can only pick up pixels touching the outside boundary of the remaining artwork. Boxes targeting interior pixels remain stuck in slots until a pathway opens.

Level 17 questions

  • What should I tap first on Colony Flow! Level 17?

Tap the front Black and Light Blue boxes. They immediately peel away the exposed glass bowl and its outer rim, opening access to the ice cream layers above.

  • Why are my boxes stuck in Colony Flow! Level 17?

Ants only collect exposed edge blocks. If you tap Hot Pink or White while they are fully enclosed by the Black silhouette, those boxes remain stalled in their slots until the border is stripped.
