How to beat Colony Flow! Level 542 — full solution
- Allow the active Light Blue 44 and Light Blue 45 boxes in the slots to chew through the outer sky border. Tap the Beige 5 box (front row, second column) and Brown 32 box (front row, third column) to begin chipping the bottom edges and the lower-left Brown 100 chest.
- Tap the White 30 box (front row, leftmost) and Brown 34 box as they open up. The ants clear the lower-left 100 chest completely and strip the bottom of the owl's perch, freeing up slots.
- Send in the Red 40 box (front row, rightmost) and the newly exposed Red 30 box once the owl's red bandana is uncovered at the top. Ants begin dismantling the upper bandana.
- Deploy the Grey 8 box and Grey 7 box into open slots to clear the owl's pirate eye patch and belly feathers. Continue feeding Light Blue boxes from the stack to remove the upper sky and uncover the top-right Brown 200 chest.
- Tap the remaining Brown boxes to eliminate the top-right 200 chest while sending Beige 25 to strip the owl's feet and lower torso. Keep at least two slots free for upcoming multi-box queues.
- Send the White 40 box and Red 43 box to chip away the rest of the owl's face and hat. Watch the numbers tick down as the central owl figure diminishes.
- Tap the Green boxes and remaining Red boxes to strip the green feather atop the pirate hat and the final red bandana edges. The picture reduces to a scattering of remnant pixels.
- Send the final Light Blue boxes and Pink box to clear the remaining stray corner pixels and empty the canvas completely. The last ants return to the nest and complete the level.

Moves that cost you the level
- Tapping the Red 40 box right at the start → Red pixels in the owl's bandana are completely encircled by Light Blue sky, leaving the Red box stuck in a slot indefinitely.
- Loading all available Brown boxes before the Light Blue borders are peeled away → Brown boxes stall because the 200 chest at the top right is still partially covered.
Quick tips for Level 542
- Prioritize Light Blue boxes whenever they reach the front of the stack, as sky pixels envelop the entire character.
- Count the remaining pixels of a colour before deploying large boxes like Red 40 or White 40 so they do not outlast the available blocks.
Board breakdown5 notes
- Layout
- The picture depicts a pirate owl with an eye patch, red bandana, and feather, flanked by two brown chests marked 100 and 200, surrounded by a solid Light Blue background. The stack contains four columns of ant boxes.
- Goal
- Clear all pixel blocks from the picture, including the 100 and 200 Brown chest blocks and the pirate owl.
- Opening
- The level starts with Light Blue 44 and Light Blue 45 already in the slots. Tap Beige 5 and Brown 32 from the front row to engage the exposed lower portions safely.
- Trap
- The Red 40 box in the front row is tempting to tap immediately, but the Red bandana is fully encapsulated within the Light Blue sky and cannot be reached until the top border is cleared.
- Mechanic
- High-value blocks (marked with 100 and 200) require multiple ant deliveries of the matching colour before that section of the board clears.
Level 542 questions
-
What should I tap first on Colony Flow! Level 542?
Let the two starting Light Blue boxes strip the outer sky, then tap Beige 5 and Brown 32 to work on the exposed lower-left chest.
-
Why is my Red box stuck in Level 542?
Red blocks only exist in the owl's bandana. If Light Blue blocks still enclose the top of the owl, red ants cannot reach their target.
