normal Live 6 colours / pieces Checked September 20, 2026

Level 408 features a chieftain pixel portrait partly covered by a 257-block crate. Strip the outer brown background to break the crate open, then peel away the feathers layer by layer. Avoid deploying dark purple boxes before inner feather ribs are exposed.

How to beat Colony Flow! Level 408 — full solution

  1. Tap Brown 34 on the far left, followed by Brown 35 in the front row. They clear the bottom-left and outer brown border, lowering the crate counter with three slots free.
  2. Release the linked Red 24 + Yellow 25 pair and Brown 35 from row 1. They strip the lower frame, face outline, and drop the crate counter to 18 with one slot open.
  3. Deploy Dark Purple 29 and White 32 into the remaining slots as the crate shatters. Ants strip the lower white headdress feathers while yellow face blocks finish clearing.
  4. Tap Brown 14 and White 16 from the front row into open slots. They clear newly exposed brown blocks under the destroyed crate and continue clearing the headdress base.
  5. Send Yellow 26 and White 34 to the slots. They clear remaining yellow facial features and begin chewing into the wide upper white feather fan with two slots free.
  6. Deploy White 35, White 25, and White 33 sequentially as slots empty. The ants clear the bulk of the upper white feathers, leaving only the dark ribs and top brown border.
  7. Tap Dark Purple 30 and Dark Purple 32 from the front of the stack. They remove the dark interior outlines and feather ribs across the headdress, freeing up slots.
  8. Tap Brown 35, White 2, and Brown 2 to strip the top border and remaining feather tips. The final blocks clear and the level is completed.

Moves that cost you the level

  • Tapping Dark Purple 30 before clearing the surrounding White feathers → Dark Purple blocks form inner feather ribs and cannot be reached yet, clogging a slot.
  • Filling all five slots with White boxes while the Brown border still blocks outer feather edges → ants cannot reach the White blocks, resulting in a stall.

Quick tips for Level 408

  • Focus on outer Brown boxes first to carve away the background and uncover the inner headdress layers.
  • Keep at least one slot open when handling linked boxes, as they require two available slots simultaneously.
Board breakdown5 notes
Layout
An Indigenous chieftain headdress and face surrounded by a Brown border, with a numbered crate (257) covering the bottom-right section. Five slots sit above the stack of ant boxes.
Goal
Clear all coloured blocks from the picture and break open the 257-block crate to win.
Opening
Start with the exposed Brown boxes to strip the outer frame and reduce the crate counter without jamming the slots.
Trap
Tapping Dark Purple or White boxes before the outer Brown and Red layers are cleared will strand them in slots with no accessible blocks to target.
Mechanic
The numbered crate shields blocks underneath it and counts down as other blocks are removed, eventually breaking away once its count reaches zero.

Level 408 questions

  • What does the wooden crate with 257 do in Level 408?

It acts as a block shield over the bottom-right area. Its counter counts down as you clear exposed blocks elsewhere on the board; once it hits zero, it disappears and reveals the blocks underneath.
