How to beat Colony Flow! Level 474 — full solution

  1. Tap Purple 15 (front row, column 1), Blue 100 (front row, column 2), and Black 85 (front row, column 4). Black 85 strips the outer hull of the UFO saucer and clears out quickly, while Purple 15 and Blue 100 begin clearing the outer sky and constellation stars.
  2. Tap Red 20, the linked Purple + Blue pair, and Black 38 into the open slots. Blue counts down while stripping the outer sky, and the linked Purple box reduces to 4 on exposed beam blocks. Red 20 works down on the bottom beam, leaving one slot open.
  3. Tap Black 80 (front row, column 1), Black 40 (front row, column 4), and Cyan 9 into the available slots in any order. The black ants strip the UFO saucer down to a thin frame, counting down to Black 9 and Black 3, while Cyan 9 attacks the crescent moon.
  4. Allow Black 9, Black 3, and Cyan 9 to finish and leave. Tap Black 18 to consume the last saucer remnants, and tap Blue 114 to remove sky blocks. The linked Purple box reaches 1 and stalls, while Red stalls at 6 because inner dome blocks remain covered.
  5. With Red 6 and the linked Purple 1 + Blue pair occupying three slots, only two slots remain open. Tap Blue 40 (column 3) and Blue 36 (column 4) to advance the stack and strip sky background without clogging the two remaining slots.
  6. Tap Yellow 18 and Green 30 as their columns unlock, clearing the rainbow beam under the saucer and exposing the alien cockpit. Tap Blue 72 and Blue 73 into the freed slots to keep the sky clearers active while Red 6 and Purple 1 remain stalled.
  7. Tap Green 30, Blue 35, and Blue 40 to strip the Light Green alien face and cockpit frame. Clearing the cockpit exposes the trapped purple and red blocks, allowing Red 6 and the linked Purple 1 + Blue pair to finally finish and vacate the slots.
  8. Tap Cyan 1, Blue 145, and the linked Cyan + Blue 1 pair in any order. They pick up the final crescent moon tiles and the last sky pixels in the upper right, leaving all five slots clear and winning the level.

Moves that cost you the level

  • Tapping Red 20 too early → Red clears 14 blocks from the tractor beam but leaves Red 6 stuck in slot 1 for most of the solve because the remaining red blocks are buried inside the UFO.
  • Tapping the linked Purple + Blue pair while short on slots → Purple quickly stalls at 1 block inside the cockpit, tying up two slots for the entire middle portion of the level.

Quick tips for Level 474

  • Reserve at least two slots for high-volume background colors like Blue and Black, which clear steadily from the outside edges.
  • Do not tap linked boxes when three or more slots are occupied, as they require two simultaneous free slots.
  • Clear the saucer and UFO dome before expecting stalled cockpit colors like Red and Purple to complete.
Board breakdown5 notes
Layout
The board features a pixel-art alien inside a UFO hovering in a starry night sky, with a crescent moon at the top right and a rainbow tractor beam at the bottom. Five empty slots sit above a five-column stack showing three rows of boxes at a time.
Goal
Clear all pixel blocks from the picture using the ant boxes before all five slots become jammed. The picture begins with over 600 blocks to remove and no timer limit.
Opening
Tap Black 85, Blue 100, and Purple 15 from the front row. Black 85 safely consumes the outer rim of the saucer, while Blue 100 and Purple 15 chip away at the exposed night sky and outer stars.
Trap
The Red and Purple boxes stall if sent into slots too early. Red 20 clears only down to 6 on the rainbow beam before stalling because the final 6 red blocks are hidden in the UFO cockpit, permanently occupying a slot alongside the linked Purple 1 + Blue pair until the saucer and dome are completely stripped.
Mechanic
Linked boxes are joined by a colored bar and occupy two adjacent slots simultaneously. They cannot be tapped unless at least two slots are free, and both must finish clearing their respective exposed blocks before both slots are released.

Level 474 questions

  • Why does Red 6 get stuck in a slot on Level 474?

The first 14 red blocks belong to the lower beam, but the final 6 blocks form the UFO cockpit lights. They only become exposed once the black saucer and surrounding dome have been cleared.

  • How do linked boxes work on Level 474?

Linked boxes share a connecting bar and must enter two open slots together. Both slots remain locked until their corresponding exposed pixel colors are completely removed.
